Skin in the Game: Join the Movement for Dermatology Equity

Only 3% of board-certified dermatologists in the U.S. are Black women. Yet Black women make up 15% of the population—and face higher rates of misdiagnosis, scarring alopecia, and skin conditions often overlooked by non-specialists. It’s time to change that.

What We’re Fighting For

WeSeeColor™ is launching Skin in the Game, a national campaign to:
  • Expand access through cross-state telehealth policy reform
  • Increase representation in dermatology education and practice
  • Advance equity through public awareness, storytelling, and legislative change
We believe every Black woman deserves a dermatologist who understands her skin, her hair, and her story—no matter where she lives.

Our 2-Year Goals

  • 5+ state telehealth pilots
  • 500+ women served through virtual dermatology care
  • 100,000+ petition signatures
  • Medicaid telehealth parity for dermatology
  • Policy action introduced in 2+ states
